Continued from Front Page: What we realize depends on what we entertain. When I was younger I read Soren Kierkegaard, the philopher say a “single individual” could change the world, As I grew older I found this more difficult to imagine. Growing older does not necessarily make one wiser. Wisdom has to be sought and desired and cannot be won without a price. In a sense this is what Christ’s passion was about that like Socrates before him, the world was constantly changing but the type of change that makes a difference creates value and teaches value that is essential and while there are different standards for success some measured strictly in terms of results; winners and losers, vanquished and conquest, others in terms of productivity and  cooperation few value to preserve and maintain what they have. Diligence requires patience from which all other virtues are derived.

To be diligent then means to appreciate what you have. Most people have more than they realize or know to develop. Being content is the start of wisdom to attain a true knowledge of self and enlightenment that few apply themselves diligently to understand. But the few who do know that patience is necessary to arrive at a right conclusion. People that are foolish are also impatient.  That without diligence wrought by patience nothing of true worth or value can be had.
